Kristen Dubrule, RCSW
(RSW# 14343)(Clinical# 20949)
My name is Kristen Dubrule (she/her), and I am a Registered Clinical Social Worker, licensed with the ACSW. I have over 15 years of experience in corrections. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Calgary in 2017 and became a therapist in 2018; specializing in PTSD and complex trauma among those who are federally incarcerated. Since 2019, I’ve also worked as a Sessional Instructor for the Department of Public Safety and Justice Studies at MacEwan University; teaching students the importance of mental health in frontline work.
In 2023, I expanded into private practice, offering individual and couples therapy to adults across Alberta, CA. While my practice is rooted in trauma treatment, my work in corrections has equipped me to treat a wide range of concerns and I have a personal desire to help people who are struggling. I can help support you if you are struggling with depression, anxiety, dissociation, narcissistic abuse, personality disorders, chronic pain, emotional dysregulation, or anger management issues. I also help people address patterns of behaviour that interfere with their quality of life; whether you have a substance abuse issue or engage in any high-risk behaviours.
My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based therapies such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and Internal Family Systems. I’m committed to ongoing professional development and strongly believe in what can be achieved in therapy—even when it feels out of reach (I’ve seen it firsthand).
I have a genuine desire to help reduce suffering and improve your quality of life.
I appreciate you taking the time to learn about what I can offer. Please book a free 15-min consultation to help us determine whether I’m a good fit for you.
Conflicts of Interest:
At this time, I am unable to work with anyone involved with the Correctional Service of Canada, or students of the Department of Public Safety and Justice Studies at MacEwan University due to the conflict of interest.
